Bright straw with green hues.
Wine Bouquet
The wine shows obvious Clare Valley Chardonnay aromas of pineapple, peach, melon and citrus. These aromas are in harmony with the lifted aromas of apricot and spice.
Wine Palate
The wine has a round, luscious mouth filling palate. It has a myriad of fruit characters throughout the palate including citrus, melon, pineapple and apricot. There is also subtle cinnamon and nutmeg spice characters to the flavour. The wine is medium to full-bodied with soft tannins and a rich, almost creamy finish.
Suggested Food Matching
Try it with a chicken and roast pumpkin risotto.
Critics Notes
“A juicy nose, overflowing with peach and melon, spices, half a ripe pineapple and some apricots. The palate is balanced and fruity, with melons, tropical fruits and lemons, with the lemons holding strong through the palate. The finish is dry, with a touch of musk. Very good length, fun-loving and very refreshing. My favourite from the range.” - Gary Walsh, Winorama (WEB) 19 Sept 2007
“Until a decade ago this blend was unknown… This Clare Valley version is interestingly different, and well worth trying – peach and apricot, a touch of spice, fruity and well balanced. Now/next year.” - Graeme Barrow, Wanganui Chronicle (NZ) 3 Nov 2007
"A big, soft, warm and fuzzy wine with lots of flavour that is great drinking now".
- 3 1/2 Stars, Winestate magazine
