Zeppelin Ferdinand Shiraz; This premium quality wine is from the Barossa Valley (Single Vineyard)
A brooding and no holds barred example of the classic Barossa style. The nose displays black fruits, dark chocolate and brazil nuts and a hint of smoky oak. The palate is rich and textural, packed with dark, dark fruit but is beautifully fresh and the oak is subdued. Towards the finish, earthy complexity and fine tannins take over and leave a lasting impression.
The Zeppelin Barossa Valley Shiraz is from a single low yielding vineyard in Greenock. A very simplistic 'hands off' winemaking approach was used with open fermenters pumped over by hand twice daily before basket pressing and fermentation was finished in barrel. Separate parcels were matured in equal parts new and seasoned French Oak for 30 months before bottling without fining or filtration.
- Zeppelin was created by "Artisan of the Barossa' winemakers Corey Ryan & Kym Teusner. Traditional techniques and a "hands off ' philosophy are used to create wines full of character. Proud of the region's German heritage, the brand was named in honor of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin /a brave and progressive man who thought big, really big -
